Memories

I love to read. I've always loved to read.
Some of the clearest memories I have of the favourite people in my life involve them reading.
My amazing grandmother who passed away in June this year used to read Mills and Boon and sip away on wine with her glasses perched on the bridge of her nose with her pinky resting in between her lips and every so often she's slyly look up and watch the family pretending she wasn't listening in to the conversation lol cheeky monkey.... I miss you grandma...
My grandfather has an incredible collection of spy and thriller books, photo albums, records - an amazing assortment of goodies in "his" downstairs room which was filled with artifacts from their many overseas travels, paintings, african masks, plus cupboards stocked with all sorts of things which I was never allowed to open. "Missy the Niddler" he used to call me (I had a tendency to break things I touched or hurt myself haha)
And mum... well when I was growing up, her quiet time was her reading before bed every night with the lamp on, which was our cuddle time....
Funny how these things stick with us.
I myself have two bookcases filled with books, fiction and non fiction and I too like mum, read every night before bed with the lamp on, I do love to read...
